May temperatures to be unrelenting across north, west India
April temperatures over northwest and central India were the highest since 1900 and May too is likely to see above normal temperatures over north and west India. The rest of the country is unlikely to see levels touched in March and April, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). “During May, above normal minimum temperatures are likely over most parts of northwest, central, east and northeast India. Normal to below normal minimum temperatures are likely over the south peninsular India and few pockets of northwest India,” the weather agency said in a statement on Saturday.
